I understand why Ms. Jenkins–better known as Ms. Bev in the Romance world–is considered one of the best in the industry, because REBEL grabbed me on the first page, and didn’t let me go until I’d read the last page…

Ms. Bev layers in history and family, and friendship and romance, with the grace, richness, delicacy, and devotion, of a master artist. In the plucky heroine, Val, I found someone I could identify with and cheer for, and in the hunky hero, Drake, I found the epitome of hunky heroes.

I truly appreciated the historical detail in REBEL, and the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and unfamiliar location as I went on a familiar journey with a couple finding their way to love despite the many hurdles of violence, racism, and poverty, they encounter in post-civil war America.
