Burning Lamp – An Arcane Society Novel

I’m not sure if I’ve read an Amanda Quick novel before. If I haven’t, I’m not sure why, because I quite enjoyed Burning Lamp—which is saying something. I’m not generally a paranormal genre reader. But this one had enough intrigue and action to hold my interest and enough sexual tension and attraction to have me rooting for a Happy Ever After.

Griffin Winters is a tortured soul—and you know me. I love tortured men. In Adelaide Pyne he finds his tortured match. They’re a pair of powerful paras doing their best to live under the radar until destiny and deceit drag them into each other’s sphere of danger. Only it turns out, their individual dilemmas, each tied to a mysterious lamp steeped in dark history and fateful prophecy, bind together in one devious scheme they must work together to unknot and resolve before they both end up dead.

Murderous escapades, mystical drama, and an inescapable passion between Griffin and Adelaide, combine together to make this a heart-pounding spine-tingling romance. 5 stars.
